"Now life is just that the Italians, with no prospect of better luck in the future, without employment, without purpose, and restricted only to the present. "
A more timely than ever, largely due to our time. A decade later, in our country, it seems that nothing has changed. In fact that book was written in 1824. 187 years ago, even well before the unification of Italy.

happens that the extreme individualism, fostered mainly by massive marketing efforts by broadcasters and unedifying examples which no longer reflected in large pockets of society. This contrast is almost imperceptible, however, not because it is alive, but only because the media does not give news.
There is a part of the country that is trying hard to react to this state of economic decay, social and cultural. It does so with the few resources available, it does so with courage and enthusiasm, and perhaps with the knowledge that if things did not tackled in the first person no one else will think.
I think students, our youth, we (I say this in generational terms) destroyed the future, prevented to imagine, to dream. These students, who are struggling for months tirelessly to defend the public school (even if we know that the present is not the best possible), it is essential to understand the public role of the school to ensure everyone the opportunity to study. This is a glimmer of optimism. Little is known or too little of the struggle of the students, but unfortunately newspapers and TV have noticed them only when the protest in Rome there were clashes, and is (perhaps deliberately) left in the second floor of the fact that thousands of boys were in the streets peacefully to defend their future and that they did for months in utter disregard of the press is that of the major political forces.
Fiom I think the workers, even in this case we see a change of trend on the extreme individualism. A Pomigliano as Mirafiori, workers have taken a battle, they did it on their skin, to protect the rights of all workers to defend the constitutional provisions, a great act of generosity not only against employers, but against our country than ever before so distressed.
I think of the great mobilization of the people of public water. It was amazing active participation for the referendum against the privatization of water, which reached a half million signatures. This is also a gesture to the community.

Left Ecology Freedom is moving towards this direction, we try not to take shortcuts and we would like to communicate with the best part of the country. This means that this party is open, only the cards that do not count (obviously also important) but we will try to interact with the active part of society movements, organizations, community centers, individuals ..... in short, all those who feel they have to question the current system in order to suggest new ideas that can help us pass the ford.
Brands is also in this direction regarding the wish to reject old logic party, demonstrates the clear and unequivocal statement of the SEL at the recent regional elections. The Berlusconi fights culturally, with unlikely alliances based not only on numerical calculations. People want concrete, have been burned too many times. We aim to look elsewhere, first of all to change the style of politics by means of participation and coherence. Participation in the claim seriously, at the provincial level is demonstrated by the creation of thematic forums that are reaping the skills and availability of persons enrolled and not affiliated to the party, table for discussion and study that aims to build a platform with the programmatic and administrative democracy from below.
We want a better country, we said. We want to reconnect politics to people, we want a cultural change in society. The company, as the poet wrote Recanatese, is the primary means to defeat the nullity of things and the defects of individualism.
The company that we have to make a difference.
